Global Parameters

This screen allows users to manage the system's global parameters, such as hierarchy options, server connections, language settings, and minimum phone number length. In general, these configurations should remain at their default values. However, the language settings and telephone number digit configuration can be updated as needed.

Screen access

To access the "Global Parameters" screen:

1. Access the "Register" option on the side menu.
2. Select the "Global Parameters" option.

Update the system's language

The system language configured in the Control Tower's Global Parameters affects the entire system, including both the Control Tower and the mobile app.

Although it is possible to select a language during the initial setup of the app, this selection is only temporary. Once the app synchronizes with the server, its language setting is automatically updated to match the language configured in the Control Tower.

Using the same language in both the Control Tower and the app ensures that all text and information are displayed correctly and helps prevent character encoding issues that may occur when different default languages are configured across the system.

In summary, the language selected in the Control Tower determines the language used by both the Control Tower and the app.

To change the system's language:

1. Go to the second page of the Global Parameters screen.
2. Select the “Pencil” icon (✎) on the right side of the item.
3. Select the desired language.
4. Select the “Green Check” icon (✓) to confirm.

After changing the language, you must log out and log back in to the Control Tower for the new language setting to take effect.

Update the minimum phone number length

In the BET app, the first two questions displayed when starting a new survey are the respondent's name and phone number. The system does not allow the user to proceed to the next screen until both questions have been answered.

For the phone number field, it is possible to define a minimum number of digits. The phone number entered must contain at least the configured minimum length.

By default, the system requires a minimum of 8 digits, but this value can be changed on this screen.

To change the minimum phone number length:

1. Go to the second page of the Global Parameters screen.
2. Select the “Pencil” icon (✎) on the right side of the item.
3. Enter the desired minimum number of digits.
4. Select the “Green Check” icon (✓) to confirm.

After changing the minimum length, you must generate a new load and instruct users to get data from server to update the configuration in the app.
